Seattle, WA – Parametrix has been selected as part of the team to review and assess the scope of upcoming fish barrier removals for the Washington State Department of Transportation. The team will complete field investigations to improve the collective understanding of each fish crossing, including hydraulics, geomorphology, biology, road and structure design, constructability, and complexity.

This work will improve the planning of future phases as the Washington State Department of Transportation continues to deliver access for salmonids to critical spawning and rearing habitats.

Parametrix will serve as a subconsultant to HDR, providing project management, transportation planning and design, environmental planning, and more. The team also includes HWA, Ott-Sakai, Natural System Design, Northwest Watersheds, EES, and Anchor QEA.

This work is part of the 2013 injunction to open 90 percent of the target fish habitat in by 2030. Parametrix is currently working with WSDOT to assess, design, and construct over 70 fish barrier locations throughout Washington.
