The City of Los Angeles is implementing a $12 million multimodal transportation project to add pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements, including pedestrian lighting, bus islands, and trees, to Downtown Los Angeles’s 7th Street. Parametrix created a Civil FX interactive digital twin experience to illustrate how the proposed design would look and function. The model allows users to experience a highly detailed 3D representation of the corridor with the ability to navigate named views such as cross streets and toggle between existing and proposed trees and lights. The system also has a simulated semi-truck turn movement to help evaluate bicycle protection systems in the intersections.
